Following the sentence of former Empire star, Jussie Smollett, who is to serve 150 days in jail, news broke out that he is currently placed in the Cook County psych ward.
Although his brother has come out to contest this move, Jussie was taken to the psychiatric department of the prison because his official paperwork states that he is in danger of hurting himself. Jocqui Smollett, the brother to the incarcerated actor, jumped on Instagram over the weekend and said:
“So Jussie is currently in a psychiatric department in Cook County prison. What is very worrying is that a note was attached to his paperwork today that he runs the risk of hurting himself.“
The enraged brother referred to this move as BS; “I want to make it clear that he is in no way in danger of injury. He wants to tell people that he is very stable, he is very strong, he is healthy and ready to accept the challenge that has been set for him.”
However, some sources in the law enforcement agency clarified that the move was made because the psychiatry ward also serves as a prison for high-ranking inmates. Jussie Smollett is currently in jail on counts of faking a racist and homophobic attack against himself after an incident that happened three years ago.
