When speaking about Mcs Southside, Queen’s own Will Sully has to be mentioned as he wears the title with pride. He brings the elements a purist would expect from metaphors, wordplay, story telling, and song making.
Will list artist like Prodigy, Raekwon, Ghostface Killah, Tragedy Khadafi and Sean Price as some of his favorites. He’s been able to incorporate his own style while becoming a top tier lyricist. He has been making his way through the New York City Indie scene building his resume. He credits his growth to trial & error, and consistently studying great artists and producers.
He released several mixtapes but considers “Generation X” his first official project released in 2018. While Will is bar heavy this project demonstrates stories & topics. His project after that “Life After” would solidified him as a consistent, rounded Mc. The production as he describes “Dirty Drums, Synth and chopped samples”, while he can switch it up this is more his preference. When asked he states the “Base Series” project has really helped him connect with his audience.
In 2020 he would meet another well known Queens Mc Ali Vegas who has made his way in the industry. While they had mutual friends this would turn into a chance for them to build and eventually record together. This would lead to some features and now a collab Ep out now “John Gotti Music” produced by Sully who also handles production.
In 2023 we can expect a higher level of consistency, more visuals, collabs with Alive Vegas, and we’ll see him doing more live shows. Will Sully is definitely carrying Torch for Queens and NYC.
