New York artist Rian Wyld released her new song, “Poppin’,” today exclusively on the digital music platform EVEN. The track is the first of several singles the independent artist plans to release throughout 2026.
EVEN is a direct-to-fan music platform that allows artists to sell music and exclusive content directly to listeners. Fans can access songs before they arrive on streaming services and choose how much they want to pay. The platform also supports merchandise sales and special experiences. Purchases on EVEN count toward Billboard charts, while artists receive fan data and payouts through the service.
With “Poppin’,” Wyld pays homage to the streets that shaped her, delivering a forceful track centered on self-belief and resilience. The song reflects her perspective as a woman navigating a male-dominated industry where voices like hers are often dismissed.
“‘Poppin’’ is me wanting to be an example of a woman standing strong in her convictions and beliefs, even in the face of opposition who try to dim your light,” Wyld said. “You don’t ever have to stop shining for someone else’s comfort, no matter who they are!”
Wyld gained national attention in hip-hop media following a public dispute with record producer Timbaland. What began as a disagreement on social media escalated after the producer posted remarks on Wyld’s Instagram account.
In response, Wyld released the song “Comments.” AllHipHop described the track as “a blistering diss.” The song addressed several controversies involving the producer, including his public statements about launching an AI-based record label, an idea critics say could limit opportunities for human artists.
The exchange generated more than 1 million impressions across TikTok, Instagram, Threads, and YouTube. Wyld has since received coverage from Urban Magazine, SYL Media, FEMI Magazine, and Hype Magazine, among others.
