On Friday (November 4), those who are still in mourning over the loss of Migos rapper Takeoff got together to organize a candlelight vigil in his honor.
On November 1, the Atlanta native, who was 28 years old, passed away after being shot to death while attending a private event in Houston with his group member and uncle, Quavo. According to authorities, Takeoff was not believed to have been the planned goal of the shooter.
Takeoff was the youngest member of the three-member group Migos, which dominated the music charts. They all grew up in the same Atlanta suburb, and he, Quavo, and Offset are all native Georgians. Many of their devotees are still reeling over the tragic loss of the Grammy-nominated band.
The weekend saw the online appearance of videos documenting tributes to Takeoff from his many admirers. May the young, humble emcee of the trio rest in eternal power.
