Contrary to the narrative that has been circulating for years New York has its next wave of producers. This includes Bronx producer 183rd who for over the last decade has been one of the producers contributing to the sound in New York.
Coming from the G Unit, Dipset, and Lox era, it is only right he’d want to cultivate that kind of energy. He makes no qualms about having pride in his East coast sound making it clear how other areas embrace their own sound. One of his first major placements was with a west coast artist Nipsey Hussle showing he can branch out.
He started out however doing the bulk of the beats for Harlem Mc Smoke Dza. He’s gone on to produce for Nym Lo, Asap Rocky, Vado, Kendrick Lamar, and many more. Along with these placements, he’s also shown he can oversee an entire album. This year he has produced “Unfinished Business” with Harlem Mc 100GrandRoyce, “42 Square Miles” with Bronx Mc Def Soulja, and “Driplomatic Immunity” with Smoke Dza & Nym Lo
NymLo a Harlem native is an Mc 183rd and also has built a brand with and worked with routinely. Nym embodies the Harlem swag and lyrical prowess you’d expect from someone who wears the MC title proudly. 183rd produced his last album “High Horse 2” and you can expect much more from them as well as more from 183rd.
Aside from the music he also puts time into his community teaching production at Bronx Writing Academy. This allows students to get direct gems & questions from someone working in the industry. With music programs become a scarcity this is something that is essential in New York City. It’s good to see someone dedicated to their artistry and also taking time to give back.
