A man befitting of his own style and swag, Virgil Abloh was a wide fashion wave when it came to men’s fashion. Until his tragic death that occurred a while back, many fashion enthusiasts have been listening to rumors and curious about who might be the possible replacement of Virgil’s Men’s Creative Director position at Louis Vuitton.
Although the famous French brand has not come up to clear the air on who they are going to appoint next, fashion guru Dapper Dan has already picked his favorite candidate, according to an interview he made with TMZ. We can indisputably mention that Dapper Dan’s remarks sparked a social media push to get rapper Kanye West to take over the role of Men’s Creative Director at Louis Vuitton. The fashion designer solely believes that Kanye would be the perfect replacement.
During the interview in Los Angeles, Dapper Dan sang praises for Kanye West, called him a genius in his own words, saying:
“I think it would be a wonderful move if Kanye is up to it and if Louis Vuitton is up to it. Kanye is a genius. I wouldn’t doubt him. Kanye can do anything, and Louis needs Kanye.”
Kanye West and Virgil Abloh were friends for more than ten years before the sudden death of the fashion icon. Ye showed up at his monument and at the funeral services in Miami and Chicago to make his wait and honor of the fashion mogul.
It is pretty evident that Kanye has made a name for himself over the years when it comes to fashion and influencing new styles with his Yeezy brand – a partnership with Adidas for the production of quality shoes and lately cooperation with GAP.
It is not so long ago when celebrity Kim Kardashian came out to thank Kanye West for introducing her into the world of fashion. As she received the Fashion Icon of the Year Award at the People’s Choice Award, Kim made her speech with appreciation to Kanye for his contribution.
Even with the loss of Virgil, after a fight against cancer, Louis Vuitton is left in a compromising position to fill the vacant position of Men’s Creative Director. Kanye West is the first endorsement, and it was made by Dapper Dan, who firmly believes the American rapper can pull off the task. However, Virgil Abloh was one of the creatives at Louis Vuitton and founded the label Off-White. He ran the million-dollar business until the time of his death.
Back in 2018, he was mentioned as one of the 100 most influential people in the world by the American Time Magazine. Virgil was successful in international fashion and was also a trained architect who sometimes designed furniture. Together with Swedish Manufacturer IKEA, Abloh had published his own successful collection called Markerad. This means “Clear and clear.” Let’s see how his longtime friend fills up all these gaps.
