Despite the good deeds Dolph has contributed to his community, there have been several threats and attempts at his life in the past. In February of 2017, the rapper rode in a bulletproof SUV that was riddled with bullets in Charlotte North Carolina, and left the scene unharmed. Later that year, in September, he was rushed to a Los Angeles hospital in critical condition, with multiple gunshot wounds, after an altercation that took place in front of the Loews Hollywood Hotel.
Today we mourn the loss of another legend in hip-hop, lost to an act of hate and gun violence. Young Dolph leaves behind a loving wife and 2 beautiful children. Our prayers are with them, his family, friends and fans. Earlier this year, his wife, Mia, lost her brother and she started a campaign called Black Men Deserve to Grow Old, to help support his family and others who have lost a loved one as a result of violent crime. Young Dolph definitely deserved to grow old with his family.
