Steelyone makes it clear he’s reppin for New Rochelle, New York, 10 minutes away from the Bronx, where hip hop was created. This is the discovery of an artist that still practices the traditions of this culture, with authenticity and an organic feel. But before a word leaves his mouth, his presents alone capture you. He is starting to gain notoriety rapidly around New York but even more overseas
His energy is captivating, to the extreme, But that’s not to take away from his witty lyrical content and stories of childhood friends that we all can relate to. Steelyone took the traditional route when it came to the New York hip-hop scene. The latest Ep released this year “Lost City: Children of Eve” demonstrates that with the raw production, wordplay and story narrating.
He sets it off with “Lost City” ft Casket D where they hold no punches about how they feel about the state of the rap game and their intent to carry the torch. On the lead song “RNW” ft Philz Jackson another New Rochelle Mc they show their tenacity and chemistry on this one. The next track “Stackhouse” shows Steely switching up the vibe while keeping the witty rhymes it’s over a laid back beat. “Good Kid” has him telling a story about the temptations you may face when presented with what may seem like an easy way out.
Overall this is a great project with features & production that meshes well. Also giving a variety of topics in the sonics. Steelyone holds true to being an artist & MC. Making it look good for his city and the culture
