Rian Wyld, the hip-hop and soul artist who captured national attention with a diss track aimed at Timbaland, is set to release her latest single, “Next Move,” on major streaming services tonight at midnight.
The track, produced by Sha the Goddess, was initially made available on the platform EVEN, where artists deliver music directly to fans. Wyld said the single continues her commentary on the state of the music business while addressing remarks made by veteran executive Damizza. “As I say in my next single, ‘Next Move,’ bum boys hate to see a woman be a boss,” she said.
Wyld’s breakthrough came with “Comments,” a viral release that Allhiphop described as “a blistering diss.” The track questioned Timbaland’s support of AI-generated music and raised concerns about his use of material from emerging artists without acknowledgment.
In a profile earlier this year, Allhiphop highlighted Wyld’s path from personal tragedy to her growing role in hip-hop. She cited the loss of her brother Ryan to gun violence as a defining moment and said listeners could expect “Hip-Hop with a lot of soul.”
Since then, Wyld has generated over a million impressions across social media and has been featured by outlets such as Urban Magazine, FEMI Magazine, VPR Radio, and WRBB Radio in Boston. The new single’s release marks the latest step in her push to expand her audience while keeping pressure on industry figures she believes are shaping the culture in the wrong direction.
