Original nostalgic paintings adorn the portfolio of portraits painted by Erica “E.Lizé” Jones. Dedicated to prominent Black creators and performers of a time before our time, Erica’s art is a reflection of what was going on in the world in the decades leading up to her birth in 1994.
What is Erica’s favorite color? Blue. But, not just any ordinary blue…
Phthalo Blue. Hints of the melancholy hue made their way into Erica’s paintings of Zhane, Ruby Dee, and self-portraits of Erica herself.
Erica will participate in the 2nd Annual Hip Hop Cultural Summit on Saturday, October 26, at the Delaware Art Museum, 2301 Kentmere Parkway, Wilmington, DE 19806. Inspired by this year’s social justice theme for the cultural summit, Erica’s original artwork will be on view through January 5, 2025.
The 1994 Cxllective — Erica, DeVaughn Jerrell, and Ari Sianeh — is back with the second installment of the 1994 Art Exhibit.
Opening night for 1994 (part deux) will be held on Friday, November 1, at MKT Place Gallery, 200 W. 9th Street, Wilmington, DE.
