Rasheed isn’t an artist that raps for the sake of rhyming words. He brings well thought out executed bars, storytelling and confidence. He also brings self reflection and opens his life to listener’s in his fashion. “Sugar Bills” is one of Rasheed’s more hard hitting albums production wise.
This is my introduction to producer The Arcitype and I really enjoyed the production. It felt like the perfect Canvas for Rasheed to paint his pictures with cohesive variety. Songs like “Dope Dealer” speaks on the underworld lifestyle serving more as a cautionary tale than the sensationalism of it.
“Lullaby” featuring Rome Streetz and 38 Spesh 2 modern day Mc’s who are also at the forefront of rappers that actually rap. I really enjoy when Rasheed goes in this mode, and The Arcitype’s beat is right up Rome & Spesh’s Alley.
On “Concrete Cinema” Rasheed gets in his narrating bag. He gives us a story on a demostic situation in verse 1 and second verse on a teenaged girl getting caught in the fast life leaving her parents to make a crucial life decision. “Lucifer In The Candlight” featuring Neenah is an example of what seperates him, just a great song. He works so well with singers and delivers powerful music.
Overall another great release from the Passaic, NJ Mc. He continues to solidify his legacy and at the forefront of artist that still put the music first.
