So many lovers and believers in Virgil Abloh’s fashion legacy have been left in a state of devastation and shock after the internet broke the news of his passing over the weekend.
Virgil Abloh, age 41, was an American fashion and furniture designer that founded the Off-White label and did most of his design work with renowned French brand “Louis Vuitton.”
The news about Virgil’s death was initially announced on the official Twitter account of the LVMH Group, with the sudden cause of death blamed on cancer that he has been privately battling for several years.
Virgil Abloh founded the label Off-White himself and ran the business until the end. In 2018, he was named one of the 100 most influential people in the world by American Time Magazine. Together with the Swedish furniture manufacturer IKEA, he published his own and extremely successful collection called “Markerad” two years ago. It roughly means “clear and clear.”
Virgil Abloh will be missed by the whole fashion and design world at large, including his precious family with his wife Shannon Abloh and their two lovely children.
“Life is so short you can’t waste even a
day subscribing to what someone thinks
you can do versus knowing what you can do.”
