A substitute to her 2021 “Ry Ry World” album, the R&B sensation released her eagerly awaited four-track EP earlier this month. After a short-lived silence in her career, this EP clearly displays that the singer has been battling with some personal fears. The Intermission marks her first project of this year.

Throughout the tracks, Mariah mixes the psychedelic lay-back sound, which predominated on her project. With harder lines that carry so much meaning and emotion, she gathered all she had and laid it out on the table. This EP seems to be targeted to one of her present or past entanglements.
