E.Lizé had a great 2024! The visual artist and MC just celebrated the closing of the “1994” Exhibit featuring original art inspired by the music, fashion, and film created by E.Lizé and friends – all born in 1994. E.Lizé linked up with Chicago producer C-Jillz on “Jonesin'” for one of the latest compilations: My Beautiful Addiction.
I had a moment to catch up with E.Lizé to find out what the grind is like, with her being an independent music artist, visual artist, muralist, and more.
How do you maintain your independence as an independent artist?
E.LIZÉ: Being selective in who I choose to work with and what I choose to engage in.
What new skills are you learning?
E.LIZÉ: Discipline. You have no one telling you what to do, so you have to do it yourself, and feeling inspired is fleeting. You have to do the work.
What about your income streams?
E.LIZÉ: I have a full-time job. Gives me flexibility and stability.
What do you see on the horizon for indie artists this year?
E.LIZÉ: Continued leverage and creative freedom.
