The 2nd Annual Harmonizing Futures gathered artists, entertainment professionals, business leaders, philanthropists, and supporters for an evening devoted to helping young people gain greater access to music education.
Presented by Lady Trumpet Inc. and led by founder Syreeta Thompson, the event focused on turning industry support into resources for students and school music programs. The organization’s efforts include helping students attend GRAMMY Camp through the GRAMMY Museum and providing assistance for the repair and replacement of instruments used in school music and performing arts programs.
Recording artist and entertainer Omarion hosted the event, bringing additional attention to the mission and the young creatives it is designed to serve.
The evening also included appearances by Tony Award-winning performer Ben Vereen and Dr. Dorinda Clark-Cole, the three-time GRAMMY Award-winning gospel artist and member of The Clark Sisters.
GRAMMY Award-winning artist, author, and philanthropist Chandrika Tandon was among the guests, while iHeartRadio personality Todd Wharton served as red carpet host.
Thompson, who serves as a New York Chapter governor for the Recording Academy and as a MusiCares board member, has made youth access and music education central to the work of Lady Trumpet Inc.
Support for the event also came from sponsors, including Joanne Saint-Vil, owner and nurse practitioner at The Luxe Medical Clinic, and Black Radiance. Committee members Aaron Charles, Alex Acey, and Ray Warren worked with Thompson and Lady Trumpet Inc. to support the event’s planning, partnerships, and programming.
Another focus of the evening was the Founding 100, a group created to build ongoing financial support for music education. The initiative is intended to establish recurring contributions that can help expand the organization’s reach from year to year.
Lady Trumpet Inc. is already looking ahead to 2027. Plans include sending more students to GRAMMY Camp and extending the instrument repair and replacement program into three additional school music and performing arts programs.
Harmonizing Futures is designed to continue well after the event itself, with a focus on connecting students with training, tools, and opportunities that can help shape their future in music.
